Drake Institute Calls for Submissions for 2020 Legislative Review Journal

Washington, D.C.— The Drake Institute of Research and Policy is now accepting submissions for the first edition of its legislative review journal, The Drake Legislative Review (“The Review”), set to be published in May.

The Review will be distributed in print to all women legislators serving in Congress. Digital copies will be made available to more than 3,000 academics, civic leaders, and women legislators serving in legislatures at the state, county, and municipal levels nationwide.

Print and digital copies of The Review will be available for purchase to members of the public.

Women legislators from across the nation are invited to write op-eds, notes, and articles
on pressing issues impacting women and their families in their respective jurisdictions.
Each op-ed in The Review will discuss a specific piece of legislation that the writer has
sponsored or cosponsored during the current or previous legislative session. The op-ed
must discuss how the legislation will uniquely impact women constituents and their
families and should highlight any strengths, weaknesses, threats, or opportunities
presented by the legislation.

Contributors are encouraged to write about hot topics in legislation, such as
environmental health, prison reform, gender diversity and inclusion, and maternal
health. However, contributors are welcome to address any of the 35 policy issue areas in
the Drake Policy Index.

To submit an op-ed or for more information, please email info@drakeinstitute.org.
